Tomorrow is the day.

Dave and I went to the dog park again yesterday and we invited Josh and his dog Tucker this time.

I don't look this big when I look at myself in the mirror. It isn't until I see pictures of myself that I realize how huge I am.

Love the BBQ. Thanks again Dad!

She loves Tucker.

Anyway, as the title of the blog says, tomorrow is the day that we are going to be induced. I have an appointment in the morning for a non-stress test and depending on the results the doctor will let me know what time tomorrow night to go to the hospital. We will keep people posted. I promise that we won't go and have this baby secretly without telling anyone.

Love,
Shandie

Random Photos

I have 2 cameras that I use and it's been a while since I uploaded the pictures from my smaller camera to the computer. I just wanted to share some of the random pictures were on that camera.

This is Marianne helping to prepare dessert for Mary Lou's birthday on March 27.

Marianne and the birthday girl Mary Lou.

Me, Miles and Ken.

This is Codi holding our newest nephew Beckam. My sister Alicia gave birth to little Beckam on May 17 at around 5:30am. He weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces and was 21 inches long.

My birthday cake. I turned 28 on May 18. I wasn't planning on doing anything but decided at the last minute that I wanted Leatherby's. Even though it was short notice almost all of our family were able to join us and celebrate with me. Thanks again to everyone who made it. I felt very loved!

Last Sunday we took Sadie to the dog park for the first time. Not only did we want to give her a chance to run around and play with other dogs, I also wanted to get out of the house for a while to walk around and try to get this baby moving. Sadie did very well at the park. Unfortunately, Maya is still as comfortable as can be inside of me and has yet to make her appearance.

As you can see, we have taken the cone off finally. We still have to keep a close eye on her because she still has staples in her tail and we have to make sure she doesn't try to rip them out. Her tail wasn't healing for a while and we think it was because she had a reaction to the stitches. The wound wouldn't close which is why she had to have her tail stapled. She was only supposed to be in the cone for a couple of weeks and it ended up being almost a month. Poor pup!

On the way home from the dog park.

Still waiting....(Updated)

Just wanted to post a quick update to let everyone know we are still pregnant. We had an appointment today and there hasn't been that much of a change. I am almost dilated to a 2 and still 80% effaced. She has dropped a little lower and I can notice a difference in the way my belly looks. The doctor said that if we don't have the baby this weekend we can be induced on Tuesday June 1st.
Thanks for all of the well-wishes lately. I am doing fine, just very exhausted and ready to have this baby. We will keep everyone posted, I promise.

Love,
Shandie

Maya's Bedroom

I feel like the nursery is finally ready enough that I can post some pictures. There are still a couple of things that I want to hang on the walls but everything else is all ready to go.

Mary Lou made the white curtains and painted the curtain rod. We are still planning on painting the bookshelf and I have a couple of pictures that I want to hang on the left side of the window.

Dave did an awesome job sanding and re-finishing the dresser that he had while he was growing up. I am planning on buying a shelf to hang above it that we can also hang a quilt on.

Here are a couple of pictures from last night:

This is the mess we came home to after we picked up our glider chair from the store. Sadie managed to tear her doggie bed apart along with the decorative pillow that went with our couch.

The culprit.

The cone can't hold her down!

Pregnancy & Sadie Update

I just got back from taking Sadie to the vet to get her stitches out. Her tail hasn't completely healed and the veterinarian said that we need to keep her in her cone at least until Saturday. I feel bad for her but her spirits are up. She seems to get around just fine with the cone on and she acts like her normal self. I really hope that we can get the cone off before the baby comes.

As for me, I'm still pregnant and I'm still in the boot. At my last foot appointment the doctor said that he wants me to stay in the boot because my foot is healing slowly. He doesn't want me to risk re-breaking it and needing surgery, especially with a newborn baby. It makes sense but it's still discouraging. Walking is difficult enough without the boot. (Just a warning for any of you that might see me any time soon, please don't make fun of the way I walk. I was able to have a sense of humor about this when it first happened but now it's just incredibly frustrating and irritating.)

Now on to the pregnancy. We are just counting down the days now and have 16 days left until Maya's due date of the 28th. We went to the doctor on Monday the 10th and he said that I am 1 centimeter dilated and 80% effaced, so it looks she might come a little sooner. I really hope that she does because I'm over being pregnant. It has gotten to the point where I'm just uncomfortable all of the time.

Anyway, I'll try to get some pictures posted of the nursery soon. Hope all is well with everyone else!
