Summer Schedule

Well my semester break has been quite brief but life really doesn't offer any summer breaks. I am signed up for a full 15 credit hours over the summer. Here is a list of my classes and links to my professors.

A Little Down Time

Good Recipe

Tonight I made Seared Ahi Tuna and Salad of Mixed Greens with Wasabi Vinaigrette. It was REALLY good! I highly recommend it. I changed the recipe just a little because I don't like radishes. I used carrots instead and I think it turned out great.

It's 75 in San Diego...

Today was such a nice day! I was able to get off of work at noon so I decided to get out and do a little walking around the city. Here are some random pictures that I took. (I really love my new camera!)

While Dave Studies.....

Life has been pretty routine lately. Dave is really busy studying and I have been working. I had the day off today so I went to the DMV and applied for my California license. It should be here within 2 to 3 weeks. It feels kind of weird to have a license in a different state.

I have started working Sundays at Moonstone Lounge which is a part of the Hard Rock Hotel. They have a party every Sunday at the outdoor pool and I work with 3 other people from Maryjane's selling food there. Here's a sample of our menu:

Cheeseburger: $16
Hamburger: $14
Chicken Ceasar Salad: $16
Chicken Sandwich: $15
Pepsi: $4
Voss Water: $5

As you can see, it's extremely over-priced. Most of the time we just have to deal with people asking why it costs so much. It's a nice change of scenery though and it feels good to be outside. I don't think that it's the kind of party that I would ever go to if I wasn't working there. It reminds me of what it must be like to be on an MTV spring break show. Not for me.

Gossip around here is...

The Dean of my law school has been in negotiations with University of California, San Diego (UCSD) to convert California Western into UCSD Law School. It apparently has been discussed  for the past several years but has elevated to a highly plausible level as of lately. We'll see, I might be graduating from UCSD Law.

Midterm Mayhem

A couple of weeks ago I had my only midterm. It was for my Torts class and was focused only on the intentional torts. Even though I felt as though I did well on the exam, I always get nervous when I go to pick up my exam. This past Monday was the first day we could pick up our midterms. When I got my exam I looked at my scores for each of the five short essays worth 15 points each. 13, 11, 12, 0??!! Number four had only 3 sentences printed. This must have been an error of the exam software. The office told me that the IT guy was out to lunch, but that I should inform my Professor of what had happened. I strait-way visited my Professor whom was very calm about the ordeal and told me to leave my exam. He said he would contact me later that day after he talks to the IT guy. Well, he never called me. Actually somehow the school has Shandie's phone number and so he called her. Shandie was at work but when she checked her messages she found a peculiar voicemail from my Professor telling me that the office had given me the wrong exam! I felt relieved, but only a little. I still didn't know if the right exam had a good score. So, the next day I picked up my exam from the office, double and c=triple checked to make sure it was mine, and then checked my essay scores. 13, 15, 13, 9, 15 for a total of 65 out of 75. That places me in the top 5%!. Super happy about the end result of this fiasco which gives me a lot of momentum going into finals.
