Doggie update:

We were recently talking about how little we have updated this blog as of late but discovered that the reason why is because our cameras are full of pictures of our dog Sadie rather than us or the things we do. However, we do have some dog-related news...we were wrong about what kind of dog she is.
After a helpful hint from Josh, we started looking at pictures of a breed of dog called Vizslas. (Vee-zlah). It is a Hungarian hunting dog that almost went extinct after WWI. As you can see, Sadie looks nearly identical to this dog; same color, same nose, same eyes, same head shape, same body shape, everything. Glad to know a little more about our new family member.

Mini Update

My friend Deryk's son Miles rocking out on the drums.
Cute and lazy Sadie. She takes after me and does not like getting out of bed in the morning.

I realize that I haven't posted updates for a while and I'm really sorry. We've been really busy ever since we moved back. I promise to post more updates after next week.

Sadie

Dave and I went to the Super Pet Adoption over the weekend and we left with a new addition to the family. Her name is Sadie and she is a 4 month old American Pit Bull Terrier. She is an absolute sweetheart!

My mom bought her this bed today and she loves it.

As of today we are fully stocked on food, shampoo and treats. Now comes the fun part... house training.

Last Week in San Diego

We are officially Utah residents once again. It's definitely nice to be home but it just seems so crazy that 2 years have already gone by, not to mention the fact that Dave is officially done with law school. I'm SO proud of him.
The week before we moved home my parents came out for the week to help us move back and also for a final San Diego vacation. We tried to take them to all of our favorite places so it was a busy week but we had such a good time. Here are just a few of the highlights from the week:

Josh flew out on the 14th and stayed for the weekend. Our first stop was Pacific Beach for a little shopping and to see Crystal Pier.

My mom and Cal also arrived on the 14th and we are so thankful to them for bringing their truck and trailer to move all of our junk back home.

My dad and Pat arrived the next day and we took everyone to the Hash House in Hillcrest. It is our favorite breakfast place in San Diego and we highly recommend it to anyone who goes there, but you need to make sure you have an appetite because the meals are GIGANTIC!

Another favorite place of ours is Ocean Beach. If you have visited us in San Diego odds are we have taken you here. This is a really cute picture of my dad and Pat on the pier.

Dave, Dad and Pat watching the surfers from the pier.

We spent a day sitting on the beach. Well, my dad and I actually spent the day sitting on the beach. Cal, Dave, my mom and Pat spent most of the time in the ocean. It was a great day.

(They didn't plan on getting their hair wet.)

Cal & Dave.

Thai Island is our favorite Thai restaurant in San Diego. We went there so often and they loved Dave! We asked them to pose for a picture with us before we left. If you have the chance to go here you have to have the green curry. It is the best.

Another must-see attraction in San Diego is Balboa Park. I think this is a great picture of my mom and Cal. We have too much fun sometimes!

Dad & Pat.

We took them through the Midway tour that we went on with Miles and Mary Lou in June. It's a very interesting and fun tour but you'll definitely need 2 or 3 hours to complete it.

Trish was able to fly out on the 20th which also happened to be her birthday so we celebrated by taking her to our favorite brewery in San Diego; Karl Strauss. The Ahi Poke appetizer was my personal favorite.

On our final night we went to a Padres game. It was a such a fun week. (That is our friend Sean making a face in the background.)

As you can see we had a great last week in San Diego. (Although I didn't post any pictures, the people from my old job threw us a moving away party as well that week.) Thanks to everyone for everything!

Winding Down

Hello!!! As most of you know Dave and I will be moving back to Salt Lake in a little over 3 weeks. We've both been pretty busy and haven't had a chance to update the blog but now I finally have some time because my last day at work was Friday. I wanted to take the last month for a few reasons, mainly because I wanted to be able to enjoy the last few weeks in San Diego without having to worry about work. I also wanted to have time to clean and pack as well as spend time with my parents who are coming in town the last week that we are here. Can you believe it's already been 2 years?!
I promise to update more often and post more pictures now that I have the time. Hope all is well!!

The Tonight Show!

On Thursday the 25th Dave, Josh and I went to the Tonight Show in Universal City. It was so much fun! As soon as I found out that Conan O'Brien was going to be the new host of the show I knew I had to try and get tickets for it. Aside from standing in line for 3 hours it was such a fun experience and I'm so happy that we had the chance to go.

The drive to LA.

We stayed here on Wednesday night.

This is Ocean Beach. We went here on Saturday because they were having a street fair.

Father's Day Weekend

On Friday the 19th, Dave's parents flew to San Diego to spend the weekend with us. After a few trips to Rite Aid on Saturday morning, we ended up spending the day exploring the ships at the Maritime Museum. Here are the pictures from Saturday.
Dave and I waiting in the car while Miles and Mary Lou were in Rite Aid.

By the way, Dave got an iPhone.

This is a picture I found online of the Midway. It is a HUGE ship!

Dave and Miles before we got on the ship.

Mary Lou & Dave.

Is it obvious that I forced Dave to pose with me in this picture?

Miles & Mary Lou.

I took this photo when I realized that they were dressed the same.
Dave's "Iceman" look. (We have too much fun.)

The Star of India.
Onboard the Star, looking out at the HMS Surprise and the Russian submarine.

Funny story behind this picture. This was taken on a mini-ship onboard the Star and while I was taking this picture a little boy came up to us and said, "Excuse me? This is for kids only.". It was so funny! He was so cute and polite about it.

Like I said, we have too much fun. This is the bathroom area. It is a wooden bench with a hole carved in it and a bucket underneath.
