Summer Trip Home (part 1)

Today was bittersweet for me. I was excited to get home and see Dave but I was sad to leave my family in Utah. My dad dropped me off at the airport and I was definitely holding back tears as I was going through security at the airport.
The trip home was so much fun. I loved being able to spend time with everyone without having the stressful holiday events going on like we had at Christmas. We flew in last Wednesday night and my dad and Pat were there waiting for us at the airport when we got off the plane. We spent the night at his house and had a barbecue on Thursday night. I was really excited to see all of the kids in the family as well as Deryk's baby Miles. It seems like they have all grown so much since I last saw them.
My Aunt Shirlee and cousin Chad surprised me when they showed up on Thursday to see me.
Chad (who just turned 20 on 6/25)
Deryk came over with her son Miles.
My nephew Sean who turned 15 in April. Time is going by way to fast.
My nephew Gaige who is in the All Stars right now.
Dad.
Pat.

I have more pictures from the party so I will post them tomorrow. I'm tired now from the flight and it's time for me to go to bed.

Coming Home

Shandie and I are coming home for Cal's 50th birthday! Don't worry, I've never seen Cal on a computer so this posting won't spoil the surprise. Anyways, I'm really excited to get away for a weekend. I can't wait to golf with my dad, mom, and Ken. I'm excited to see Mike. The surprise to see Cal will be fun, and I just finished my Criminal Procedure midterm so a weight is off of my shoulders. Only one downside, Shandie is staying two more days than I am because I need to get back to class. It's been a long time since I've been away from Shandie for that long. I hope I can fall asleep without her there next to me.

We're Still Here

I'm sorry that it's been so long since I've updated the blog. I've been working every day for the last 8 days so I haven't had much time. I have one more day of work tomorrow then I'm off for a while. I can't wait.
Anyway, just wanted to say we're doing well and I promise to post more in a week or two.

ONE YEAR

Wow! It's already been one year since Dave and I were married. What an interesting and crazy year it has been! Before I met Dave I never thought I would move out of Utah and I actually wasn't sure if I would ever get married. I have learned that things sure can change! I love being married and sharing all of these new experiences together. There is no one in the world that could ever compare to Dave.
Since Dave is busy with school we decided to celebrate our anniversary a couple of days early. We drove up to Big Bear Lake on Saturday and spent the night there. It was a lot of fun and it was great to get away from the city for a day. It's been a long time since we've been able to spend a quiet evening together without the sounds of the city in the background.
