Kitchen Remodel

Before picture of the light that was in the kitchen when we moved in and the old cabinet hardware.

After we put the microwave in and changed the cabinet and drawer pulls.

After picture of the new light, microwave, oven, paint and tile backsplash.

So far so good! Dave did a great job tiling! Now we just need a new dishwasher and light sockets.

This is the Place Heritage Park

I took Maya to This is the Place park today because we had never been there and I heard they have a train to ride. Maya loves trains.

I have no idea who she gets this face from... :)

She loved the train ride.

She also loved all of the Maya-sized buildings. I'm  sure she would have stayed there all day if I would have let her.

Here she is asking me, "Where'd they go?". She wanted to play with a couple of little boys who were there but they weren't that interested in playing with a 2 year old girl. They kept running and hiding from her.

Pretty pooped out here. Time to go home!

We came home and found this horrible looking spider in the trap. I hate spiders! I'm glad I didn't see this before it was in dead in the trap. I would have screamed!

Random Summer Photos

So far our summer has been busy. Dave is working on finishing the tile backsplash in the kitchen and I've been working on planting flowers in the front garden. Maya has been getting into everything possible and doing all of those things that 2 year olds do. She loves coloring, painting and swimming. She has been counting from 1 to 10 and she can tell you how to spell her name. She changes so much every day and it's been a joy to watch. Anyway, I hope that summer is treating everyone well and that you are all finding fun ways to beat the heat.

This picture was taken when we went to Dave's cousin's wedding reception in Mt. Pleasant on June 16. Maya didn't want to be inside the church so we spent the majority of the time hanging out on the grass in front of the building.

Maya got these "washable" dot-art paint things (I'm not exactly sure what else to call them) and she loves them. Turns out that they are easy to wash off of everything but skin. I let her play in the bath for an hour and finally got all of the paint off of her body.

We spent the 1st of July at my dad's house to celebrate my sister Jessica's birthday. Ashlyne had a fun time dumping water on her head. It's been so hot lately that I don't blame her.

All of the cousins loved the pool.
Bath time after swimming.

Spent the 4th of July at Alicia and Drake's new house. Ashlyne & Maya loved feeding the coy fish with Grandpa.

Stayed overnight in Paris (Idaho that is). If you look closely you will see Maya and her cousin Braxton in the window. Maya loves playing with her cousins.

Since it was the first time I've been to Paris in the summer we decided to explore the town a bit. Dave had been wanting to check out the tabernacle ever since we first saw it so we took a tour of it while we were there. It's a pretty cool old building and if you're ever in Paris you should check it out. Here's a link with more info:

Funny...

This picture sums up our lives right now. Ha ha! I might just have to use it for our Christmas cards this year.

Summer Fun!

The first official day of summer isn't until the 20th but with weather in the 90's lately I think it's safe to say that summer has come early. Luckily Maya got a fun new water toy for her birthday and we were able to have some fun in the sun over the weekend.

Maya's 2nd Birthday

For Maya's 2nd birthday we threw a Dr. Seuss themed party. We decorated the mantel with cat-hats, truffula trees and Maya's favorite Dr. Seuss books.

The cat-hats were one of the only things I didn't find on Pinterest. I finally used my sewing machine and made 3 cat-hats to cover the pillar candles.

The menu consisted of:
Green Eggs & Ham Sandwiches
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish (Swedish Fish and Goldfish crackers)
Yink's Pink Ink (pink lemonade)
Truffula Fruit
Sneetch Veggie Treats
Oh the Places You'll Go cookies

I found these on Pinterest and Mary Lou made them for the party. They turned out great!

One tired girl!
